Delicious Oatmeal Biscuits
If you’re looking for an easy-to-make treat to spice up your family visits this 2017, this local biscuit recipe is just for you!
Here’s what you’ll need to make approximately 35 cookies:
1 cup softened unsalted butter
1 ½ cups brown sugar
1 large egg
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ nutmeg
¼ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups rolled oats (not instant oats)
1 cup desiccated coconut
Here’s what to do with it:
Set the oven to 190°C to heat up while you prepare the mixture.
First, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a small bowl and set it aside. Then move on to creaming the butter with the sugar in a large bowl until smooth – this will take around 2 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla to the large bowl and beat well. Then add the dry ingredients from the small bowl and mix thoroughly. Stir in the final ingredients – the oats and desiccated coconut.
Once everything is smoothly mixed together, use a teaspoons to scoop up the mixture into three large ungreased biscuit sheets, making sure to leave at least 5cm between each biscuit mixture.
Please in the oven and allow to bake for approximately 12 to 14 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool on the sheets for 5 minutes. Then transport them to a wire rack to cool further.
Last, but not least, have a bite and enjoy!
