October 28, 2015

As the 2015 Rugby World Cup draws to a close, the spotlight has already somewhat shifted to the next world cup, to be held in Japan in 2019.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup will take place in Japan, and after much deliberation as to what the date of the competition would be, the official dates as well as the logo has finally been revealed.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup will take place from the 20th of September to the 2nd of November.

The dates are very similar to that of this year’s contests, with the dates falling in teh fourth quarter of the year.

The first opening match will be played in Tokyo, with the final taking place in Yokohama.

As for the logo, it bears two of Japan’s most recognisable symbols, the rising sun and Mt Fuji, and is the first RWC emblem since the International Rugby Board rebranded itself last year as World Rugby.

Saturday sees New Zealand take on Australia in the final of this year’s Rugby World Cup.
