Danny Welbeck Injured
Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck will be out for at least three weeks due to an injury.
The 26-year-old English international strained his groin area during Arsenal’s goalless match against Chelsea last weekend.
According to reports, Welbeck had a scan on Monday, but needs to undergo another, more extensive, scan to reveal the full extent of his injuries.
“We don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break,” said Gunners’ manager, Arsene Wenger.
Welbeck will miss Wednesday’s Carabao Cup match against Doncaster as well as upcoming Premier League games against West Brom and Brighton.
The star forward is also unlikely to be able to play for England in their final two World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia on 5 October and Lithuania on 8 October.
The English national team is in danger of losing midfielder Dele Alli, who is currently facing a ban for making a rude gesture during their match against Slovakia. If Alli’s ban comes through, England will be missing two star players for their upcoming matches.
Media reports have speculated that Welbeck could return in time for Arsenal’s match against Watford on 14 October.
