Cumberbatch confirmed as Doctor Strange
Benedict Cumberbatch has officially been confirmed by Marvel to play Doctor Strange after months of speculation.
The Sherlock actor was rumoured to be in talks to star as the character in the self-titled film back in October, but nothing was confirmed by both Marvel and Cumberbatch. Now Marvel has officially confirmed that the actor will take on the role of the "Sorcerer supreme"
According to Marvel, the film will follow Doctor Stephen Strange – a neurosurgeon who gets into an horrendous car accident. He then comes across the concealed world of magic and different dimensions.
Doctor Strange is set to hit cinemas November 2016 and is to be directed by Scott Derrickson.
