Cristiano Ronaldo Extends Real Madrid Contract
Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, will remain at spanish club Real Madrid for at least the next four years, as he has signed an extension on his lucrative contract with the club.
The extension will mean that Ronaldo will stay with the club until June 30, 2021.
The contract will also continue to make Ronaldo a very rich man. According to various sources he is the highest paid player at Real Madrid.
This means he earns more than Gareth Bale – who recently renewed his contract with the club and is estimated to make around £600 000 a week.
Ronaldo was named the world’s highest-paid sportsman for 2016 by Forbes magazine.
The magazine stated that Ronaldo made around $88 million in 2016, comprising of his playing salary as well as various endorsements.
Ronaldo’s official contract signing event will take place on Monday afternoon, and according to the club, Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, will also be in attendance.
“…The official event for the renewal of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract will take place tomorrow, Monday, November 7 at 13:30 in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium…The Portuguese forward will extend his contract until June 30, 2021 at the event attended by club president Florentino Perez and the player himself,” a statement by the club read.
