Coronavirus: US, UK Hotels Offer Free Accommodation to Medics
A vast majority of hotels across the United States of America and the United Kingdom are offering free accommodation to medical personnel.
Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many hotels and lodges around the world have had to close their doors to the general public.
Doctors, nurses and others in the medical profession have been working hard to treat those who have contracted the disease.
According to the American Hotel and Lodging Association, more than 6 500 hotels that are close to medical facilities – including the Four Seasons luxury hotel chain – have signed up to offer temporary and complimentary housing for frontline healthcare workers.
Meanwhile in Britain, retired soccer star Gary Neville – who co-owns the Hotel Football and The Stock Exchange with fellow legend, Ryan Giggs – announced that they will be offering every single one of their rooms to medical personnel only.
Neville said: “It’s at this time that I think the whole of our industry needs to show solidarity, not just for our staff in these uncertain times, but obviously for those who need the accommodation most in the coming months.”
