Coffee Glazed Bacon
It’s not unusual to have coffee with your breakfast, but it is unusual to have coffee IN your breakfast! However unusual this may sound, it really is quite delicious – coffee glazed bacon!
You will need:
Strips of bacon
1 cup Maple syrup (or any syrup of your choice, really)
100g Ground instant coffee
Pepper
Salt
In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, coffee, salt and pepper according to your taste over a medium heat. Continue to stir the sauce until the coffee dissolves.
Then, cover the bacon strips with the glaze and arrange the strips on a baking tray. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
Flip over the bacon after 20 minutes and cover with the remaining glaze. Place ot back on the baking tray and bake for a further 20 minutes or until the bacon is brown.
Remove from the oven and serve! This is a great addition to any traditional English breakfast, or as an unusual snack on its own.
