Conte: Eden Hazard is not leaving Chelsea

July 31, 2017

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has insisted that Eden Hazard is not leaving the squad.

The 26-year-old Belgium international has been heavily linked to make a move this transfer window.

Earlier reports suggested he would make a Real Madrid move, but recent rumours suggest that La Liga giants, Barca, are eyeing Hazard as a replacement for Neymar, who is undergoing a medical for Paris Saint-Germain this week.

According to the Daily Mail, Conte has told Barcelona to forget about a Hazard transfer, because it isn’t happening.

The Blues manager said recently about his star winger, “He is very happy to stay with us and to play for Chelsea. I don’ t know anything about this situation.”

Hazard still has three years on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Conte added that he is unsure of when Hazard will be back in the squad, due to a broken ankle, but that he will most likely miss the start of the season.

Hazard has been recovering in London since breaking his ankle playing for the Belgian national team, earlier in the year. Eden has had surgery, and Conte says that he’s “recovering well.”
