Conte: Chelsea One Step Away from EPL Title
Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has said that Chelsea is just ‘one little step’ away from clinching the English Premier League title after their incredible win over Middlesbrough on Monday.
Chelsea completely destroyed Middlesbrough yesterday, sending them into relegation and almost certainly securing a Premier League win for themselves.
The ‘one little step’ Conte is referring to is their game against West Brom on Friday which, should they win, will secure them the title.
“We’re very close. We must be honest. But we need to do another little step and win another game…For sure now I’m a bit relaxed. This step was big for us, a big win…Now we need to do another step. We have the possibility to do this on Friday against West Brom [sic],” he told reporters after Monday night’s win.
However, should Chelsea not win against West Brom on Friday, they have other chances of making it with home-games lined up against Sunderland and Watford.
Conte also said that, even though they are really close to glory, Friday’s match against West Brom won’t be an easy one.
“For sure it won’t be easy, because West Brom is a really good team, a physical team, and we must pay great attention…We are very close, but we need another step to become champions of the Premier League, which would be a fantastic achievement for us,” he said.
