Chiyangwa Announces Zifa Presidency Bid

October 28, 2015

Zimbabwean business tycoon and budding politician, Philip Chiyangwa, has announced his bid to run for president of Zifa.

Zifa’s current president, Cuthbert Dube, has announced that he will step down soon from his position as president, thus leaving the position open to anyone who feels they will be able to fill his shoes.

According to Chiyangwa, he has already picked up the so called application forms for the position from the Zifa offices.

He also claims that he already has the support of around half of the current Zifa councillors.

As far as news outlets are concerned, no other potential candidate has come forward to show interest in being the top dog of Zimbabwean football.

Caps United club president, Farai Jere, told reporters over the weekend that he was approached about possible standing in the election to become president, but that he had not made a decision and was still considering his options.
