Chinese Clubs Eyeing Arsenal’s Aubameyang
Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has reportedly received numerous lucrative offers to quit the club and join the Chinese Super League.
According to reports, Aubameyang – who joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in January last year for £56 million – was originally close to joining Chinese club, Guangzhou Evergrande, for £62 million.
However, the deal collapsed for unknown reasons. Weeks later, the 29-year-old Gabon international signed with Arsenal, where he currently earns £190 000 a week.
Now, it is believed that both Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG are looking to lure Aubameyang – who has two years left on his current contract – with a new deal that could see him earning a cool £300 000 a week.
With only a £40 million transfer budget, Arsenal may be forced to sell the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in order to buy new players, as well as to retain the services of current players such as Aubameyang.
