Cheryl Cole & Liam Payne Welcome Son

Former One Direction member, Liam Payne, and British ‘X-Factor’ judge, Cheryl Cole, have welcomed their first child together.

The couple’s baby boy was born on Wednesday, 22 March and, according to the couple, is healthy and beautiful!

Both Cheryl and Liam posted on Instagram about the birth, welcoming their son to the internet and introducing him to their legions of fans in the process.

“My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow! [sic] I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it’s a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far,” he wrote.

Cheryl was as loving in her message to her first child, writing:

“On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn’t have a name he is already stealing hearts [sic] We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever,” she wrote.

Cheryl and Liam’s relationship has caused quite a stir, as the two singers have a 10-year age gap between the two of them.

Cheryl, 33, first met Liam when he originally auditioned on ‘The X-Factor’ when he was only 16!

However, the 23-year-old has not let the age gap come between him and his leading lady. In a recent Twitter Q&A, Liam admitted that he is the happiest he has ever been.
