Chelsea’s Sorry State Could Lead to Sarri’s Sacking

February 20, 2019

Chelsea head coach, Maurizio Sarri, is reportedly on thin ice following his side’s embarrassing exit from the FA Cup on Monday, 18 February.

Under the beleaguered coach’s leadership, the Blues were defeated 2-0 by Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. This prompted the club’s supporters to turn on the Italian with heated chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning.”

Prior to this loss, Chelsea suffered a tremendous 6-0 defeat on Sunday, 10 February, at the hands of Manchester City. This resulted in them dropping to sixth place on the Premier League log.

Despite a decent start to his campaign, Sarri has rapidly lost steam after losing three of their last five games.

According to reports, Sarri is nevertheless set to manage the Blues in their upcoming clashes against Malmo and Manchester City.

However, should Chelsea fail to secure a win against the latter in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, 24 February, it will be up to club owner, Roman Abramovich, to determine the Italian coach’s future.
