Chelsea Target Everton to Boost Top-Five Hopes

April 25, 2025

Chelsea will be eager to strengthen their bid for a top-five finish in the English Premier League (EPL) when they host Everton on Saturday, 26 April.

The Blues, currently in sixth place on the EPL table, face a tough end to the season with key fixtures ahead, but a win over the Toffees is vital as they aim for UEFA Champions League qualification at Stamford Bridge in London, England.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca will serve a touchline ban after receiving a third yellow card during their 2-1 win over Fulham, but he and his team have shown resilience, coming from behind to earn points in recent games.

The Blues’ form has been solid at home, having not lost to Everton in their last 29 EPL encounters at Stamford Bridge, with their last meeting ending in a 6-0 thrashing.

Under David Moyes, Everton has avoided relegation but has struggled in past weeks, particularly away from home. They will be without key players, including defender James Tarkowski and forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, making their task even harder.

With the hosts still battling for a Champions League spot, they enter this clash as clear favourites. However, they must remain wary of the visitors’ potential to disrupt their momentum in what could be a tight, scrappy encounter.
