Chelsea Offer Contract to AFCON Talent

January 15, 2026

Chelsea has entered the race for Anis Hadj Moussa, reportedly opening talks with his agent, Mohamed Dahmane.

The 23-year-old Algerian international is a priority for new Blues manager Liam Rosenior, who took charge at Stamford Bridge following Enzo Maresca’s departure at the start of the month.

Hadj Moussa’s profile rose significantlyduring the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where his creative spark helped Algeria reach the quarter-finals. This international success follows a breakout period at Feyenoord, including seven goals this season and a memorable Champions League strike against Manchester City.

Former coach Brian Priske previously praised the winger’s “exceptional” discipline and attacking flair.

While Chelsea was initially expected to prioritise player sales this January, the opportunity to secure the €24 million-rated talent has shifted their strategy. However, the Blues face stiff competition from Olympique Marseille, who are reportedly prepared to offer €30 million.

As Hadj Moussa’s contract with Feyenoord runs until 2030, the Dutch club remains in a strong negotiating position and will only sanction a mid-season move for an acceptable fee.
