Chelsea Looking to Replace Sarri with Zidane
Chelsea are reportedly eyeing former Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, to replace Maurizio Sarri as the club’s manager.
Sarri – who was appointed as the Blues’ coach in July last year – is said to be losing the support of the club’s board after his side lost two consecutive away-games.
Chelsea’s most recent defeat came on Sunday, 10 February, when Manchester City beat them by 6-0. This led them to drop to sixth place in the Premier League log.
According to reports, Zidane – who stepped down as coach of Real Madrid last year with three consecutive UEFA Champions League wins – is said to be eyeing a coaching job in the Premier League.
He is also said to be idolised by attacking midfielder, Eden Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid after his contract expires next year. By appointing Zidane as coach, Hazard may be encouraged to remain with the Blues.
Time will tell if Chelsea’s top brass will replace Sarri with Zidane.
