Chelsea Agree on Tiemoue Bakayoko Deal

July 13, 2017

According to sources, Premier League champions, Chelsea, have agreed on a £40 million deal for Monaco midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko.

According to reports, the deal has been in the pipeline for some time, but was stalled until Bakayoko had fully recovered from the knee surgery he underwent at the end of last season.

The 22-year-old midfielder is set to undergo a medical at Stamford Bridge later on in the week.

Chelsea will officially announce Bakayoko’s signing as soon as he passes the medical.

Bakayoko signed with Monaco in 2014, and played a huge part in helping Monaco win the French Ligue 1 title last season, making 51 appearances in total for the club.

He was also instrumental in Monaco’s progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they were named the 2016/2017 UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season.

Earlier this year, Bakayoko made his debut for the French international team during a friendly against Spain in March.

Some reports are suggesting Bakayoko’s arrival at Chelsea could signal the departure of fellow midfielder, Nemanja Matic.
