Chalamet Topples Giants in Milestone Golden Globes Win

January 13, 2026

Timothee Chalamet has secured his first Golden Globe, boosting his momentum for the upcoming Academy Awards.

Competing in what he described as a “stacked” category for his performance in “Marty Supreme”, the 30-year-old actor beat out established heavyweights including Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney.

Reflecting on his journey after four previous nominations, Chalamet credited his father for teaching him to be grateful. Addressing his fellow nominees, he stated: “This category is stacked. I look up to all of you.”

He later admitted that his past losses made the victory “that much sweeter.”

The “Dune” star also shared a humorous nod to co-star Kevin O’Leary, remarking: “If you would have told me when I was 19 years old that I’d be thanking Mr Wonderful from Shark Tank … I would have been stunned.”

While filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” took the most trophies overall, Chalamet’s victory is seen as a definitive turning point in the forthcoming awards race.
