Carragher: No Championship Glory in Man United’s Future

October 23, 2019

Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, believes that Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, does not have what it takes to take the club to the top.

Although the Red Devils managed to pull off a 1-1 draw against Liverpool last Sunday, 20 October, the memory of their losing 1-0 to Newcastle two weeks prior is still fresh in soccer fans’ minds.

As a result of their sub-par performances, Man United are currently 14th on the Premier League log, sitting 15 points behind Liverpool.

In a recent interview, Carragher pooh-poohed the notion that the club will bring home any championships while Solskjaer is at the helm.

He said: “If I were a Manchester United fan, I think I’d rather see someone else as the manager at the start of next season. But I certainly don’t think [Solskjaer] will be changed between now and the end of the season, because I feel that would be a mistake.”

Carragher added: “[However], it’s up for grabs who will be in that dugout come the start of next season, even if United’s form takes an upturn.”
