Cardi B Throws Shade at Nicki Minaj
Fans reckon that Cardi B dissed Nicki Minaj at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night.
While opening the show with a skit, which included trolling the audience with a fake baby bundle, the “I Like It” star referred to herself as the “empress”.
Many believe this was a dig at Minaj, who recently dropped her fourth album, “Queen”.
A fan tweeted: “She said “I am the Empress”. An #Empress is higher than a #Queen on the royal hierarchy. Low key a dig at Nicki [SIC].”
Later on in the show, Cardi B dropped a spicy one-liner that was also apparently aimed at Minaj after picking up the award for Best New Artist.
She said: “All of the love that fans, my friends, everybody shows me is genuine and beautiful, and that’s something that God gave me that you can’t buy.”
This is a reference to when Minaj called her out last week, claiming that Atlantic Records bought Cardi B her number one song.
Minaj has yet to respond.
