The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has joined together with the Confederation of African Football to help accelerate the current ongoing reform process aimed at modernising the African football governing body.

The president of CAF, Ahmad Ahmad, and FIFA’s president, Gianni Infantino, signed an agreement which outlines the objectives and plans of the newly formed partnership, during the CAF’s general assembly held in Cairo on Thursday, 18 July.

The two governing bodies have agreed that FIFA will provide its expertise to assess the current situation in CAF and help improve its processes.

FIFA General Delegate for Africa, Fatma Samoura, and CAF General Secretary, Mouad Hajji, have been mandated to work closely with the CAF administration and a selected group of experts to ensure the implementation of the newly released roadmap.

The CAF-FIFA partnership roadmap covers the following three main areas;
