Buckingham Palace Confirms Prince Harry’s Relationship with Meghan Markle

Buckingham Palace has confirmed the relationship between Prince Harry and Suits actress, Meghan Markle – albeit not in the best of light.

Unfortunately, the palace was forced to release a statement regarding Harry’s relationship with the American actress because she has been the target of racist and sexist bullying ever since rumours started doing the rounds of her relationship with Prince Harry.

The palace, as is accustomed, released a statement on behalf of Prince Harry, pleading with the media and online trolls to stop the harassment of Markle.

“…Since he was young, Prince Harry has been very aware of the warmth that has been extended to him by members of the public…He feels lucky to have so many people supporting him and knows what a fortunate and privileged life he leads,” the statement from Buckingham Palace began.

“…He is also aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life. He has never been comfortable with this, but he has tried to develop a thick skin about the level of media interest that comes with it…He has rarely taken formal action on the very regular publication of fictional stories that are written about him and he has worked hard to develop a professional relationship with the media, focused on his work and the issues he cares about,” the palace continued.

Then, came the moment in the statement that confirmed to the world that Harry is indeed dating Meghan:

“…But the past week has seen a line crossed. His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment…Some of this has been very public—the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments,” a part of the statement read.

So if the palace officially calls Meghan Harry’s girlfriend, then you know it is definitely official.

The statement then continues, detailing horrible incidents where the press have gone to new lows to intimidate and harass Meghan; even going as far as to try and get into her home illegally.

At the end, the statement calls for an end to the over zealous harassment of Meghan and to stop the racial and sexual abuse.
