Brendan Rodgers Is Not Returning to the Premier League
Former Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, has confirmed that he will not be returning to the English Premier League, despite rumours that the he was in talks with Arsenal.
Rumours have been doing the rounds for quite some time that Rodgers had been in talks with Arsenal to take over the reins from current Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, when the current season comes to an end.
However, the Celtics manager put those rumours firmly to bed, telling reporters recently that he is happy at Celtic and that he is not looking to rejoin the Premier League any time soon.
“One day I will look to go back [to the Premier League]. I wouldn’t rule out going abroad as well. But at this moment in time my only focus is for Celtic,” he said.
He continued, saying that he is happy where he is now and that he is enjoying building up quite a team with Celtic.
During his tenure as manager at Celtic, Rodgers has helped the club win the Scottish Premiership title.
“I love it here, I love the life up here and I want to continue to build the club and continue with the success…As a Celtic supporter, I know what they want and I want to try and give them as much as I possibly can and when I do leave here, leave a legacy that allows for the next guy to come in and hopefully take it on again [sic],” he said.
As for Arsenal, many people believe that this will be Wenger’s last season with the club, as his contract runs out at the end of the season.
However, the club management has said that no decision has been made as of yet about Wenger’s future at the club.
