Boy Trampled By Elephant

February 22, 2016

A six-year old boy from the country’s  Beitbridge’s Chituripasi area has been tragically killed after he was trampled to death by an African elephant.

What makes this accident even more tragic is that according to various reports, the six-year old boy’s sister had to watch helplessly as the mammoth elephant trampled the small boy.

According to various newspapers, the boy was on his way home from pre-school when him and his sister as well as a friend came across the elephant.

It is believed that the three children then tried to flee the elephant – who was obviously spooked by the children – but that the little boy could not out-run the elephant.

After the elephant trampled the boy, it is believed that he then fled to in the direction of the Limpopo River.

There has been numerous animal attacks in Zimbabwe over the past year, most notably a trophy hunter from another country that was trampled to death by an enormous bull elephant.

In the past few month, there has also been reports of people in rural areas being killed by lions, hippos and crocodiles.

Zimbabwe is home to all of the Big Five animals.
