Boko Haram Ambush Kills Nine
The Nigerian Army has confirmed that jihadi terrorist group, Boko Haram, has killed nine people in an ambush that took place over the weekend.
The also said that the ambush took place in the Borno state in the north east of Nigeria.
Five out of the nine people that were killed during the attack were soldiers who were reportedly busy carrying out clearance operations when the attack happened.
Several other soldiers were also injured during the attack.
Colonel Sani Usman, a spokesperson for the Nigerian army confirmed the attack and said that the bodies of the victims will be evacuated to Maiduguri, while those injured are receiving medical care.
“…Five soldiers, three vigilantes and one civilian… lost their lives during the ambush, while 19 soldiers and 1 civilian [were injured]…The bodies of the late soldiers and civilians have been evacuated to Maiduguri, while the injured are receiving commensurate medical care and are in stable condition,” he said.
The north east of Nigeria is constantly under siege from Boko Haram, which has wreaked havoc on the area and caused an array of problems for the people living in the area.
