Reality Check and Rockville actress Boity Thulo has admitted in an interview that she is quite a recluse and does not have a boyfriend contrary to popular belief.

The star told Sunday World: "There is no man in my life," while she was promoting her episode of e.tv’s Reality Check, alongside Bongani Fassie and Somizi Mhlongo.

She shed some light about her life on and off camera, when she is not shooting Rockville, a series on M-Net’s Mzansi Magic, and her role in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

"I spend most of my time alone at home googling, watching movies or reading. I read a lot.”

"[Reality Check] has opened my mind to value what I have because other people don’t have the things we have, the things we take for granted. like being on social media and not worrying about where your next meal will come from.”

"Things like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the less privileged people don’t know about those. And if they do, they are less interested in them. What’s uppermost in their minds is shelter and putting food on the table."

She said the episode touched a nerve with her especially when the three stars had to prepare food parcels and distribute them to needy families and the sick at Witkoppen Health Care Hospital, a public health facility in northern Jozi in August.

"I didn’t know it was groceries some families would die for. simple things like candles, matches and tin food. We were required to hand them out. It was extremely heart-rending."

Thulo told the newspaper that when she wraps the third season of Rockville in November, she’ll be taking on a new role at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week where she will help with promotion. a

She also said that she sees Rockville, where she plays Minnie Dlamini’s twin sister, as aher biggest break on TV.
