Billie Eilish Blasts Topless Mag Cover

August 30, 2019

Billie Eilish has slammed a German magazine after they created a digitally altered image of her for their front cover.

According to reports, the cover art for “Nylon Germany” magazine’s latest issue – designed by visual artist, Marcel C. Wilkens – depicts the 17-year-old singer as a bald, topless robot.

Taking to the publication’s Instagram account – on which the cover art was posted – Eilish put them on blast.

She wrote: “I was never approached by nylon about this piece whatsoever [sic]. i [sic] did not know it was happening nor did anyone on my team.”

Eilish added: “Youre gonna make a picture of me shirtless?? [sic] … at 17? and make it the cover???? [sic] even if the picture was supposed to look like some robot version of me… i did not consent in any way [sic].”

In response to Eilish and her incensed fans, “Nylon Germany” defended the cover: “It was only ever our intention to honour [Eilish’s] impact and her work by creating this avatar, which is part of a cover series highlighting the power of digital prodigy artists.”
