Ben Affleck Bows Out of Batman Role
Ben Affleck will reportedly not be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne, better known as Batman.
The 46-year-old actor was originally signed on to direct, write and star in “The Batman”, the next installment in the DC Films franchise.
However, in early 2017, he eventually handed over directing duties to Matt Reeves, who said in a recent interview that the film would focus on a younger Bruce Wayne.
On Thursday, 31 January, Affleck retweeted a story from the online publication, Deadline, in which they claimed that he would not appear in the film.
He commented on the tweet: “Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life [sic].”
Affleck portrayed the Dark Knight in two films: 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, and 2017’s “Justice League”.
