Bellerin Extends Contract with Arsenal

November 22, 2016

Arsenal full-back, Hector Bellerin, has extended his contract with the Premier League club, amidst rumours that he was planning a move to rival EPL clubs.

Arsenal announced the extension of Bellerin’s contract on Monday, although they did not disclose for home many years the contract had been extended for.

British media, however, are reporting that Bellerin has signed on with the Gunners for another six years at least.

The news comes just as rumours were doing the rounds that Bellerin was considering moving to other Premier League clubs as well as a rumoured move to Barcelona.

Reports suggested previously that Manchester City and Barcelona were interested in the 21-year old Spaniard and that they were willing to spend a lot of money in acquiring his services.

However, those rumours were put to bed and it seems that Bellerin is happy with his decision to stay with Arsenal:

“…I’m really, really happy and this club is my home right now…I’ve been here for more than five years now so I was really, really excited when the club told me they wanted to extend my contract,” he recently told reporters.

He continued saying that he never entertained the idea of moving to another club:

“…I wasn’t thinking about anything else other than staying here and continuing my development here. This is where I’m happy. I’m just very grateful and pleased to have signed,” he said.
