Beckham to Receive the UEFA President’s Award

David Beckham will be presented with the UEFA President’s Award later this year, in celebration of his remarkable career and humanitarian efforts, the sports European governing announced on Tuesday.

In the official statement released, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said: “I have chosen David Beckham as the recipient of this year’s award because he has been a global ambassador for football, promoting the game and all its values in every corner of the planet.”

Ceferin further labelled the former England captain as “a true football icon of his generation.”

Beckham has played for England, Tottenham, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, Milan, PSG, won six EPL titles, two FA Cups, and the Champions League with United in 1999. He recorded a total of 762 football appearances and scored 130 goals in a career span of over 20 years.

In response, Beckham said he was “proud to join the illustrious list of players who have previously won this award.”
