Barcelona Targets Blues Star
FC Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea forward, Willian, once his contract expires next summer.
The 31-year-old Brazilian – who signed with the Blues from Anzhi Makhachkala for £30 million in 2013 – has made 200 appearances for the club and scored a total of 28 goals.
Now, Willian has apparently reignited the interest of Barca, who attempted to bring him to Camp Nou from the Russian outfit prior to his move to Chelsea.
The Spanish giants also bidded £40 million to sign the forward this year, but the offer was rejected by then-coach, Maurizio Sarri.
According to reports, Willian will become a free agent after his contract expires in January 2020. It is currently unknown if the Blues will offer him a new long-term contract – if not, then he will likely leave the club on a free transfer.
As a result, Barca may be first in line to bid for the Brazilian’s services next year without having to pay a transfer fee.
