Barcelona Makes Bid for Embittered Blues Player

December 18, 2018

Barcelona are reportedly looking to sign Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen.

The 22-year-old Danish player – who was a regular starter for the Blues last season under previous head coach, Antonio Conte – has struggled for playing time during the current Premier League season, joining only nine games.

Under Maurizio Sarri’s leadership, Christensen has made only two appearances in Chelsea’s two Europa League matches so far this year.

Now, the Catalan giants are believed to have already made a bid for the defender, who is aware of the contact.

Per reports, the Spanish club is looking to strengthen their defence, while centre-backs Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti are recovering from recent injuries.

While Chelsea are said to not be keen on letting Christensen leave on loan, the prospect of a permanent transfer – which could potentially lead to more game appearances – may prove irresistible for the frustrated player.
