Barca Determined To Get Coutinho

October 12, 2017

Barcelona have announced that they will bid for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Chief executive, Oscar Grau, made the announcement on Wednesday, adding that Barca is willing to bid £120 million for the 25-year-old Brazilian international.

Liverpool rejected three bids from the La Liga club for Coutinho in the summer transfer window. The biggest offer was over £110 million, which would have been a Premier League selling record at the time.

Coutinho reportedly wanted to make the summer move from Anfield to Camp Nou. He missed six of the Reds’ opening games of the Premier League season, intensifying speculation that he was poised to leave.

According to Spanish media reports, Coutinho has finally reached an agreement with Liverpool that will allow him to leave the club. This agreement will only be applicable, however, if Barcelona come forward with a reasonable offer.

Barca may need to up their bid though. Liverpool currently values Coutinho at £183 million, and signed a five-year deal with the midfielder in January 2017.

Barcelona also added that they are willing to purchase any player that the coaching staff want for the squad.
