Bafana, Gambia Match Confirmed

May 06, 2016

South African and Gambian sporting officials have confirmed an international match between the two countries that will take place in June.

The two teams will go head-on in the penultimate 2016 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, Gambia.

The date for the much anticipated clash of two great sporting countries has been set for June 4th.

This will be a priority game for South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, as they seek to redeem themselves after not managing to score a goal in their last match of the qualifiers against Cameroon back in March.

However, Gambia will also have to make a point with this game, as they are currently at the bottom of Group M.

South Africa is currently in third position in the group with three points, with Mauritania in second place with seven points, and Cameroon is in the lead with eight points.

Kick-off for the South Africa vs Gambia game is at 17:00 Gambian time.
