Atiku Abubakar Denies Campaign Kick-Off

Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, denies that his 2019 campaign has kicked off with bags of rice (with his photo on it).

Abubakar addressed the matter through Facebook, denying that he had started a campaign. He said: “We’ve seen this flying around. It’s fake. Possibly photoshop”.

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce confirmed that the photographs are fake, he said “…this is a photoshopped image. Really sad the lengths people go to when threatened by another’s popularity”.

Abubaker is said to participate in the 2019 presidential election, with many waiting to see if Muhammadu Buhari is seeking a second term.
