Arsenal Sign Sead Kolasinac
Arsenal has announced that they have acquired the services of Bosnian international, Sead Kolasinac, in their first transfer deal ahead of the new season.
The 23-year-old defender previously played for Bundesliga side, Schalke 04. He joined the German club in 2012 and went on to make 95 appearances for the club.
Kolasinac has made appearances for both the Bosnian and German national teams. While his parents are Bosnian, Kolasinac was born and raised in Germany.
He represented the German U-18, U-19 and U-20 national sides from 2011 to 2013.
He made his debut for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team in 2013 and was part of the Bosnian squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
“Sead Kolasinac will join us this summer on a long-term contract…Subject to the completion of all regulatory processes, the defender will start pre-season training in July,” a statement on Arsenal’s official website read.
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, who recently signed a two-year extension on his contract with the club, despite calls from fans for his sacking, has reportedly been making several offers to clubs and players during the current transfer window.
Wenger has reportedly shown a keen interest in Monaco forward, Kylian Mbappe, as well as KAS Eupen forward, Henry Onyekuru.
