January 21, 2015

After receiving various nominations including a Golden Globe, SAG Award and a Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in the film Cake, Jennifer Aniston was ultimately snubbed at the Oscars as she didn’t receive a nomination.

The actress appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show and was asked about the snub. "I’m the number one snubbed! That’s the silver lining!" joked the actress.

Yes, Aniston didn’t seem to mind the snub at all saying: "It hasn’t even come out! That’s the crazy thing — we’re so shocked and amazed that we have had this much love for a movie that hasn’t even been released yet."

In the film Cake, Aniston plays Claire Simmons, a woman who suffers from chronic pain and is addicted to pain killers and booze. Eventually, she becomes interested in the suicide of Nina – her former chronic pain group member played by Anna Kendrick. Claire begins investigating the suicide by visiting Nina’s widower husband (Sam Worthington) and asking questions. Judging by the trailer, the film also deals with Claire trying to cure her own emotional pain.
