Amy Schumer Changes Son’s Ballsy Name

April 16, 2020

Amy Schumer has changed her son’s name, because the infant’s first and middle names sound a little too close to a certain body part.

The 38-year-old comedienne announced on Tuesday, 14 April, that she and her husband, Chris Fischer, had officially changed their son’s name from Gene Atell to David.

In the latest episode of her podcast, “3 Girls, 1 Keith”, Schumer mentioned to her co-hosts how the naming mishap was realised – her mother pointed out that she had inadvertently called her son “genital”.

The “Inside Amy Schumer” creator gave birth to the couple’s son in May last year, initially naming him Gene Attell – the second name in tribute to cult edgy comedian, Dave Attell.

Schumer married Fischer on 13 February 2018 in Malibu, California. In October of the same year, she announced her pregnancy.
