Agent Fuels Coutinho’s Return to Liverpool?

July 16, 2019

With Philippe Coutinho’s future at Barcelona uncertain following Antoine Griezmann’s arrival, the Brazilian’s agent hinted at a possible return to Liverpool for the 2019/20 season.

The midfielder has been linked with transfers to Manchester United, but his agent, Kia Joorabchian, revealed on Monday 16 July, that it would be difficult for the forward to move to any Premier League club except for Liverpool.

He said: “Manchester United is a great club, I have players there and I have all the respect for them, but as far as [Coutinho] goes, it would be extremely difficult to a near-impossible move.”

Joorabchian added: “It would be very difficult for [Coutinho] to play for any of Liverpool’s rivals because he has such a great affinity towards Liverpool. His time there was fantastic. His heart and affinity is very much with Liverpool.”

According to reports, Coutinho is prepared to join Liverpool on a two-year loan, with an option to buy at $156 million.

However, Joorabchian says Barcelona has no intentions of offloading Coutinho regardless of any attackers they bring to Camp Nou.
