A Taste of Sonar announces line-up
Cape Town and Johannesburg will become the first African cities to join Sónar Barcelona’s 21-year history of bringing together music, technology and culture when the festival hosts an impressive lineup of seven international and 18 of South Africa’s top local artists, headlined by the iconic Pet Shop Boys.
Both cities can expect innovative stage production, audio visual and theatre with four outfit changes from the Pet Shop Boys ‘Electric’ live show, a live performance from The Bloody Beetroots and some of the world’s best electronic mash-ups and disco from the 2manydjs DJ set.
A Taste of Sónar in Johannesburg serves as a teaser event for the full event happening in Cape Town a few days afterwards.

Building musical bridges
Sónar Cape Town is proud to partner with Bridges for Music, a local non-profit organisation that supports electronic music development in developing countries. Bridges for Music is committed to providing life-changing experiences for disadvantaged artists by giving them the opportunity to develop their careers within the music industry. Jazzuelle will be representing Bridges for Music in Johannesburg, while DJ Fosta, who is sponsored by Pioneer DJ, Siphe Tebeka, and Sir Vincent will be performing in Cape Town.
