A Man Arrested Over Emiliano Sala’s Death

June 20, 2019

A 64-year-old man from North Yorkshire has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter regarding the death of Argentinian forward, Emiliano Sala, who died in a plane crash in January 2019.

Just a few days after the 28-year-old striker signed to join Welsh club, Cardiff City, a plane carrying him from Nantes to Cardiff crashed in waters north of Guernsey.

Sala’s body was recovered after almost 17 days of searching and was sent to Portland Port in Dorset, the nearest part of the British mainland to where the plane was located.

The Dorset police identified the body and began an investigation surrounding the actual cause of his death.

Detective Inspector Simon Huxter, of the Dorset Police investigation team recently released a statement confirming an arrest, he said: “As part of this investigation we have to consider whether there is any evidence of any suspected criminality.”

He added: “As a result of our inquiries we have today, Wednesday June 19 2019, arrested a 64-year-old man from the North Yorkshire area on suspicion of manslaughter by an unlawful act.”

He further urged the media and the public to avoid speculations about the man’s identity as this might cause more distress to the families involved and hinder the investigation.
