8 In Court For Elephant Killings

Over the past two months, more than 60 African elephants have been killed in Zimbabwean wildlife parks. Most of these elephants were killed by the poison cyanide.

However, it was announced today that the Zimababwean Park rangers, with the help from police officers, have caught eight suspects that are being tried for the murder of these elephants.

The eight people indicted are believed to be a part of a syndicate of illegal elephant poaching.

Eight men Forget Shoko, 26, Stephen Moyo, 45, Gift Ndlovu, 31, Makwikwi Mujeje, James Nkomo, 75, Thandazani Sibindi, 30, Phathisa Moyo, 25, and Ngangezwe Khumalo, 29 on Tuesday appeared before Hwange magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa.

They were charged individually on charges ranging from illegal possession of cyanide to to illegal possession of raw ivory and illegal firearms.
