6 People Killed in Plane Crash On Mozambique, Zim Border

Police officials in Mozambique has confirmed that six people have died in an airplane crash on Monday, close to the Mozambique-Zimbabwe border.

The victims of the crash included two crew members and four passengers. All six of the passengers on board were Mozambican and all six were killed during the crash.

Conflicting reports about the details of the crash have been coming in, with the exact location of the crash being in dispute.

According to local Zimbabwean state-owned newspaper, The Herald, the airplane crashed on the Zimbabwean side of the border.

They allege that the plane went down in the Vumba area; a mountainous area in Zimbabwe’s east.

However, in a conflicting statement, Mozambican district police commander, Gelindo Vumbuca, told reporters that the airplane crashed in the Machipanda mountain range, near Mutare.

The airplane was en route to Harare and departed form Mozambique’s port city of Beira.

The airplane was identified as a BN-2 Islander.
