5 Cooking Hacks You Need to Know
Whether you’re a master chef or an amateur in the kitchen, you know cooking can be a slow and often difficult process. It can be bothersome, especially if you want to get food on the table fast or if you find the process confusing at times.
Luckily for you, we’ve found some helpful hacks that will make cooking much easier – and less messy!
Take a look at these five cooking hacks you can use in the kitchen:
Remove Eggshells with an Eggshell
Got small pieces of eggshell in your bowl of yolks? Simply scoop up these broken pieces with half of an eggshell, which magically attracts the pieces like a magnet.
Peel Potatoes with Your Hands
Boil your potatoes for 15 minutes, before soaking them in an ice-water bath for five to ten minutes. Afterwards, you should be able to pull off the skins easily by hand.
Grill Your Fish with Lemon Slices
To avoid fish from sticking to the pan or breaking, grill them on top of lemon slices. Not only will the fish stay intact, but the slices will also add a delicious citrus flavour.
Anchor Your Chopping Board
Place a dish cloth or a wet, wrung-out paper towel underneath your chopping board. This prevents the board from sliding to the side while you’re chopping your ingredients.
Soften Your Butter
Grate your butter with a cheese grater, or – after placing it in a plastic bag – flatten it with a rolling pin, to soften your butter quickly.
