3 Zimbabweans Killed By Hippo
Three Zimbabwean men were killed by a hippopotamus on the border between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
South African police said in a statement yesterday that the incident happened close to the Beit Bridge in Musina, South Africa. It is believed that the men – who was also accompanied by a child – were crossing the border into South Africa illegally.
It is believed that they crossed the border into South Africa at an illegal entry point, situated near the new Limpopo Bridge in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
According to South African police spokesperson, Ronel Otto, the child that was travelling with the three Zimbabweans has also been injured in the attack and is currently in a critical condition in hospital.
“…[sic] The child was crying for help. Authorities then called for medical assistance. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that three adult males had sustained fatal injuries,” she said in a statement.
