2018 Grammy Awards To Take Place in New York City
It seems that the producers of the Grammy Awards have decided to shake things up a little. The 2018 award show will now take place in New York City – the first time in 14 years – after being held in Los Angeles for years.
As for the venue, the Grammys are certainly going all out next year. The 2018 award show will be held at the iconic Madison Square Garden on January 28th.
It is also a big anniversary for the awards, as next year’s awards will be the 60th annual award show. The first ever Grammy Awards were held in 1959 and were called the ‘Gramophone Awards’.
To celebrate the Grammy’s return to New York, famed director Spike Lee – himself a New Yorker – released a video that he directed called ‘New York City Of Music’ on the Grammys’ official YouTube channel.
The video was released as the announcement of the new home of the Grammys was announced.
The nominees for the 2018 Grammy Awards will be announced in the last quarter of the year.
