2017 Teen Choice Awards: Winners
The annual Teen Choice Awards took place on Sunday night, and, amidst controversy over the night’s planned hosts, the show once again delighted teenage and adult fans alike.
The Teen Choice Awards are known for high-energy performances, an array of A-list celebs, and, of course, surfboards given out as awards.
This year the spotlight fell on Miley Cyrus, who was widely rumoured would host the show alongside Chris Pratt. She was also set to receive the Ultimate Choice Award. However, Miley was a no-show, despite the official TCA Twitter account tweeting a picture of her at soundcheck earlier in the day.
When the show started, Nickelodeon star, Victoria Justice, walked out on stage and announced that “Miley couldn’t make it” but that Youtuber, Jake Paul, would fill in hosting duties instead.
Many fans were upset over Miley being M.I.A, and also with Jake Paul as a replacement.
But, as always, the show must go on – and go on it did! The audience was treated to amazing performances by the likes of Zara Larsson, Rita Ora, Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha.
