2017 Brit Awards: Nominees
It seems that every other day there is a fresh new list of nominees out for some or other award show – and that is exactly the case, as award season is in full swing in both the US and the UK.
The latest award show to announce their list of prestigious nominees is the Brit Awards.
The Brit Awards celebrate the best in British music over the past year.
This year’s Brit Awards nominees are much more diverse than other years – when the only real competition was between Adele, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding.
There are also some nominees that, if they are to win, will receive a posthumous award. One of these nominees is the incomparable David Bowie, who passed away from cancer last year.
He has been nominated in the British Male Solo category, as well as in the British Album of The Year category for his album, ‘Blackstar’, that was released just before his death.
Legendary singer-songwriter, Leonard Cohen, who passed away in November last year, has also been nominated in the International Male Solo Artist category.
