2017 Annie Awards: Winners

February 06, 2017

The Annie Awards are unlike any other Hollywood awards, mainly because they are focused solely on animated films and the hard work and creativity that goes into producing these adorable animations.

It’s hard to imagine that, when watching an animated film like ‘Finding Dory’ or ‘Moana’, that that film has been in the making for at least five years.

Animated films take remarkably longer to produce than live action films, because of all the technicalities involved in producing a film made entirely on a computer.

While the actors may come and do their voice-overs within a month or two, the film is most likely to only be released two to three years after the recordings.

That is why the Annie Awards are so special. They honour the animators, designers, engineers, directors and a whole host of other people who pull together to make all our animated dreams come true.

‘Zootopia’ and ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ were the biggest winners of the evening.
