2016 Tony Awards Nominations

While award season may officially be drawing to a close, there is one more big award show to end it all off with a bang – the Tony Awards. 

The Tony Awards might not draw such a big crowd as the Oscars or Golden Globe Awards, but they are – what some consider – the most prestigious. 

The Tony Awards are given to actors, directors, producers etc. that excel in theatre or musical theatre. 

Think Broadway musicals, famous plays and wonderful acting by some of the best actors, actresses and directors in the world. 

The Tony Awards are seen as the most prestigious acting award because it deals with theatre – a live audience where editing is not applicable.
